You won’t be charged a penny in advance if you choose to pay on arrival, though you can get a discount by pre-paying online.

Certain Sixt van hire locations also offer an out-of-hours service, meaning you can pick up or drop-off outside the normal business times. This service costs an additional £102.

One-way

 
You can drop off your van at another Sixt location with their exclusive one way van hire service. There is a nominal extra charge if you’re dropping off in the same city, though the price is a bit steeper between some cities.

If you plan to drop off in Manchester from Liverpool (or vice versa): £5

International

 
Need to go a bit further than the U.K.? Sixt offers an international van rental service, available for most vans travelling to any of the following countries:
 
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.
 
International van hire with Sixt requires a Foreign Use charge to be applied, equivalent to an additional 60% of the basic hire rate. Vans travelling to Northern Ireland will incur an additional £24 per day charge.
 

Cancellation Policy

 
Any booking that is pre-paid online will be subject to the Sixt cancellation policy. Any cancellation and rebooking will incur a nominal fee. If you cancel without rebooking the cancellation charge amount will be equivalent of your rental (up to a maximum of 3 days hire including any selected extras).
 
Any booking that is not pre-paid online can be rebooked or cancelled with no additional charge.
 

Payment

 
Payment with Sixt can be made by using a credit card or debit card. Accepted cards include:

Only UK debit cards can be accepted for payment. Prepaid credit cards are not accepted.
 
If you are making a pre-paid online booking the card needs to be in the name of the main driver and should be brought with you when picking up the van.
 
Prepaid van bookings will be charged before the beginning of the rental.
 
A deposit will also be required at time of pick up. This will be fully refunded when the van is dropped off.
 
Credit card payments will require a deposit of twice the full rental price, with a minimum deposit of £250.
 
If paying by debit card the deposit amount will be the value of the rental plus £250.
 

Documentation

 
The main driver and any additional drivers must show a full driving license (if U.K. license both the photographic and paper sections are needed). Each license should have a maximum of 6 penalty points.
 
Any driving license using a non-Roman alphabet (e.g. Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic etc) should be accompanied by an International driving license. Any driving licenses from countries not part of the International Driving License treaty must be accompanied by an official translation of the license as well as the original license.
 
If you plan to pay by debit card you should also bring an additional form of identification (other than passport), such as a recent (within past 3 months) utility bill, bank statement, council tax or tenancy agreement, a second credit or debit card, building society book or identity card.
 
A passport or valid identity card is required for any customer who does not hold a Sixt Express card.
 

Insurance

 
Sixt van rental includes Third Party Liability (TL) and a Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) insurance coverage as part of your quote. The Loss Damage Waiver includes a liability excess amount of £1000.
 
You can choose to reduce your excess liability with optional insurance coverage:
 
Excess: £500 (£8.00 per day)
 
Excess: £75 (£18.00 per day)
 
There is also an optional Glass and Windscreen coverage available during your hire, in the event of damage to the windscreen, windows or mirrors (not covered by the Loss Damage Waiver). This insurance removes any excess liability for any damage (unless part of a larger repair).
